Meet Mia
Allow me to introduce myself and share my beginnings.
What am I up to these days?
Local Business Partnership
Right now, I’m working on a couple of exciting projects. One of them is with a local bakery, where I’m helping them to improve their website experience. At the same time, I’m also working with an independent wildlife photographer and helping him to showcase his work online in a more engaging way.
Independent Project Work
I’m also working on a UX improvement project focused on accessibility. For this, I’m steadily building, testing, and refining each element step by step. There’s still work to do, but I’m enjoying the process. After launch, I’m excited to see how people interact with these projects in real time.
My Journey So Far
I grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, and my journey into tech didn’t start in any prestigious school. I’m mostly self-taught, learning through online courses and tutorials.
After earning my degree in Communications, I realized I really enjoyed simplifying complex ideas and making them easy to understand. That’s when I decided to combine writing with technology.
These days, I’m especially interested in web development and UX design. I’ve also been exploring different AI tools, just experimenting and learning as I go.
Along the way, I’ve also heard those subtle assumptions that tech isn’t always a space where women naturally belong. But my experience has been completely different. Women are just as capable, analytical, detail-oriented, and resilient. Technology doesn’t belong to one gender, and it never really did.
So here I am, not really trying to challenge stereotypes in a loud way, but simply sharing what I learn as I go, hoping it helps someone else feel a little more confident with tech, too.
Want to Learn and Explore With Me?
